Use a mixture of 1/2 vinegar and 1/2 water. That will break down the lime - which is what water spots really are:

I wet fabric softener sheets and wiped down the shower doors and it worked like a miracle. Nothing else worked like this.

Hello. I make a paste with vinegar and baking soda. It will bubble a little which is normal. I then scrub it on and let it sit for about 10 minutes. I then rinse and dry. You may need to repeat with really bad spots.

if your water is as bad as the water where I live, then I have found one product that works great and you get it at the dollar store. It is called AWESOME. It comes in a spray bottle. On the bottle it gives you list of things you can use Awesome for and how much to use for the different tasks. I mean this stuff will break loose the hard green mineral buildup. I used it in one of our rental properties. Now I use it all the time. It is concentrated so it is important to follow the guidelines printed on the bottle. Awesome can be used for household cleaning, laundry / clothing, concrete, appliances, windows, carpet etc. It is a very long list. If you want eco friendly then vinegar is your friend. Since it is a glass door you could use ammonia and water mix. ( Be careful with ammonia, you Must have GOOD air ventilation so you don't get overcome by the fumes. Even when diluted with water. And Never, Never mix Ammonia with, or right after cleaning with clorox, that is deadly)
