On a budget, paint the space a light color, a clear shower curtain gives the appearance of a larger space, use the wall to put up wood or wire baskets to hold rolled or folded towels, or blow dryer. Use the back of the door for hooks for hanging wet towels. Put up shelves above the toilet for storage. Basically, utilize all horizontal space for storage. Add new towels, a small rug, new mirror (if not medicine cabinet) to update the look.

I would look through home decorating magazines and decorating sites in-line. Download all ideas for bathrooms that are similar in the size of your new bathroom. Don't over analyze them at first - just collect photos of your "dream" bathroom ideas. After you've accumulated a fair number, then start to whittle them down by cost and labor. Then create your dream bathroom using the items that fit, are within budget, and is the bathroom you will love using for many years.
