Vinyl couch starting to lose leather look

we have a leather-look vinyl couch and I am forgetful about keeping it wiped with leather wipes. I just noticed places where it is starting to rub off and I want to give it an "emergency speedy recovery treatment"to stop this process, if there is any. Is there anything I can start applying to the couch to stop this "rubbing off" process and keep it looking like supple leather and be soft again? Thanks so much!

I use products made for vinyl, not leather. I use Lexol products, they have them for both leather and vinyl that both cleans and protects them. I have used them for years on car upholstery, chairs, even the vinyl on my cars roofs with excellent results. I was told to use this by a guy who repaired leather and vinyl stuff as a living when I asked him what to use to keep my convertible top black and not look so faded. He had fixed the jeep seat for us and I came in the convertible to get the car with my son, that is when he told me about the Lexol products and I have used them since (over 20 years). Easy to use, spray on and wipe off well and your done.

My son sucessfully restored his pleather sofa wear - using a ( brown) leather paint from Amazon. Very unnoticeable - impressive repair.....very slight difference in sheen. You could polish it I suppose to achieve the same sheen. The product he used has very positive reviews on Amazon. You might want to see if it will meet your rehab needs.

Thanks for this! It's something I never would have thought of. I'm going straight to Amazon to check this out now. Good idea!

Use liquid or solid shoe polish, apply, rub it in and buff. Then cover the arms and head rests with think doilies. If the leather is rubbing odd at the seat creases, buy the covers that are made for this, either the saddle-back top or the old cover-it-all type in denim or microfiber covers. 😇

Thanks so much for the suggestion! I'm running right out for some shoe polish now (is it shoe polish or boot polish? My couch is burgundy colored., Do you think they have this colored polish?)

If you can't find it, try auto parts stores. I hope it helps your couch! The Lexol products really are good. Just make sure you wipe it down good so that none gets on your clothes. It worked so good on my cars leather seats that you almost slid off of them!
