There are frames made for posters. They are not as big or ornate as regular frames.
I once got a piece of plastic and just "binder clipped" all four sides, and hung it up. Easy peasy and very light.
Thrift stores sell frames for cheap.
I like making the poster look a little like a scroll. For a romantic poster, I like white dowels or dowels painted any color then highlighted with white or a metallic. For a masculine look, go for metallics, red, or black. Little caps of wood, plastic or metal can be painted, fitted or glued on the ends. For one step further, I like to glue or staple opposite ends of the poster to the dowels, then roll the ends over or under the dowels, adding to the scroll effect. Best wishes 😇

My idea is just simple I don't know if it works for you but you can "paint" a border or a "frame" on the wall and then put your poster on the inside of it.
