Does anyone live in a high rise a condo with a small patio?

How have you enhanced your space? Did you have any issues with wind on the balcony? These photos are of a high rise condo patio in Buckhead which I transformed into a welcoming space that the homeowners love!. My goal was to bring wamth and color into the space while keeping it open and airy with the outdoor curtains. I used the existing patio furniture and added beautiful decorative outdoor pillows to bring brighten up this dreary space. Planters and terracotta wall decor were placed around the perimeter of the patio. An outdoor rug and fire pit brought the space together while staying true to the outdoor theme by adding a cozy factor that makes the space inviting and enjoyable. TMW

Yes, agree with Douglas, the curtains and the the greens throw pillows softens the space as well as gives it a twist!

Law school so warped my thinking....Tonya, any problems with a fire pit on a balcony. My recollection is that some fire marshalls have banned grills for safety concerns. I've not looked but I would suspect there are concerns with fire pits and any fuel tanks. Some POAs may also restrict their use.

I love the transformation otherwise.....sorry for that dang legal training of mine.

@Kevin, the HOA approved the fire pit as long as its covered and away from the building, although no grills that you would cook on are allowed on any of the decks/balconies. That is a very valid concern since grills are not allowed. Glad you like the transformation.TMW

@YaminimM--thanks! I thought the green was a bright fun color for this outdoor space. TMW

@StaceyD--I love colorful pillows and plants...you can achieve a different look for the same space each year without spending a fortune. TMW

Great to hear that you covered the HOA fire concerns. A lot of homeowners forget those safety issues and a lot of fires happen from grills on decks. Also great to hear that the HOA was flexible! Keeping a fire extinguisher on the deck is also a great idea....by the time you go to the kitchen to get one the fire can spread (or more likely in this case, the sprinklers will be set off causing more damage).

That is a great looking patio set, smaller patio sets will always bring out the best of the small patio area. Those are nice looking chaise lounge chairs as well, mix it up with some different color themed throw pillows and you're patio area will be looking swanky in no time! These guys have pretty good deals, I bought a small set for my patio: http://www.patioproductions.com
