Soda and vinegar can clean the area... but it may not totally eliminate the stain (that you cannot see) Treat the area with a produce like Natures Miracle Advanced formula (be aware that it is made in 2 formulas, one for dogs, one for cats) Find the pee spots using a black light and pour enough of the treatment on the stain to fully encompass it (thru the pad and down to the sub-floor) allow the product to sit on the carpet until it dries by itself... it needs time to neutralize the bacteria that cause the odor... This particular formulation also works on the pheromone that attracts the dog back to the spot on the carpet. Wait long enough for it to work.... and then clean your carpet using what ever product and method you want.

I prefer using the Bissel products for pet stain and odor in a Bissel carpet cleaner... but a rented unit will work well too.

Use 1/4 cup of white vinegar, 1 tbsp. of Dawn dish soap, and fill with water. Spray area liberally and let soak for 5-10 minutes and then proceed with blotting with a clean, dry towel until stain is removed. Some carpet stain removal products can be of great benefit for combating many types of carpet stains.
