How to Make Upcycled Furniture Legs Candlesticks

I love repurposing furniture and finding good uses for old things. Here I've got a great idea for old furniture legs!

I've been holding on to these furniture legs forever. They were cut off an old table I made into a coffee table a couple years ago. I just loved the chunky shape of them, and I knew they would make an awesome pair of candlesticks.

I pulled out chalk paint for this project.

After the paint dried, I lightly distressed the edges and sealed them with top coat. Easy peasy. My Blog post has a video of the process and a discussion on chalk v. milk paint and links to all the products I used and where you can find them.

I had these clear glass candle plates in my decorating stash. You could also use a piece of wood, or a terra cotta dish. I glued the plates to the top of the legs with this awesome clear glue. It went on and dried clear, and worked perfectly!

And just like that I have one-of-a-kind candlesticks that add so much character and charm!!
