Once a month, I put a cup of baking soda into my dishwasher and run it on the longest cycle....no dishes inside. The baking soda helps to scrub, clean and freshen the inside of the dishwasher and keep it looking nice and clean.

First run it empty with some vinegar in it. If that doesn't do more than just freshen the crap lodged in the holes, you're going to have to clean it out by hand. Use whatever long narrow item you have on hand like a skewer. If things are too far up in the holes then take the arms out and clean them by running water through them it's not hard just time consuming. Chances are you won't have to go this far.

Sounds like a filter problem. Have you cleaned your filter? Option : scrape plates etc. before they go in dishwasher.
