For a simple cleaning I use wipes. If they are seriously dirty you may have to give them a good soak and scrub in the tub or on the driveway.

Definitely, the blinds-cleaning brush would work wonders. But if you’re like me and cringe at buying something to use rarely, you can use alternative methods. Like covering a butter knife or even a craft dowel (or similar narrow object) with baby wipes. Just wrap the wipe around the knife/dowel/object and you can get in between the slats easily.

If you’re talking about what to clean them with or how to do it by taking the whole thing down, I’d recommend using the tub filled with soapy water. (Suggestion: Dawn works wonders on greasy kitchen blinds.) If they’re stubbornly dirty and a mere soak doesn’t get the desired results, use the above technique on them. Then using the shower head, simply rinse clean and lay outside in the sun for a while to dry.

If taking them down is an option I would take them down and soak them in the tub for a while in warm water and blue Dawn dishwashing liquid. If you want to clean them while still hanging, old socks is a wonderful way to get them clean. Just slip it on your hand and glide over each slat, if you put the slat between your thumb and forefinger, this will clean both sides at the same time.
