How lucky to have a large room! Chairs come to mind. A sideboard. Perhaps even a large dining table. Large coffee table and side tables.

Without any photos or room measurements, it's hard to make specific recommendations. If the room is extremely large, consider making perhaps 2 different seating areas. You can delineate each by using area rugs, etc. You could also put in a small round table with chairs for a game area.

A sectional works well in a large room. If you'd rather separate pieces, how about a love seat and chairs? A large coffee table would be nice and is an easy DIY. Throw pillows, throws, area rugs, paintings can all warm up a room. Capet or not, use an interesting area rug on top. Don't get too carried away with tables. Most 'coffee' tables become catch-all's. Do something dramatic with lamps on end tables. Paired occasional chairs at an angle look nice. And always a comfy rocker.
