Concerning the J-pipe of the bathroom sink:
Without disconnecting the pIle, Is there some way to retrieve fallen objects?

Only if it is far enough up the pipe to reach it with something to grab it. If it is too far to reach, you will need to loosen the pipe and take it off.
check out Anazon, they sell a tool that will retrieve something from the J pipe. It is item #70396 Lighted Steel Claw Mechanical Pick-up Tool for $12.44 or $6.98 if a Prime member.
You could try inserting a line of string with a hook? Or a magnet? Or some chewing gum (remember that scene from Nurse Jackie?)?
I like the idea of bring it back up with a magnet. Of course, that will only work if the item in J Pipe is metal
