How do i caulk pine siding with vertical groves..

my breeze way is a heated space, i'd like to keep the heat in the room not the attic. the trim is quarter round, so it doesn't fill the gaps. any suggestions?

Pull off the trim, use low-expanding insulating foam or weatherstripping & caulking in the gaps, then replace with bigger trim?
I would get some clear silicon caulk and use a caulk gun up near the ceiling and trim, run a bead and then use a wet finger to smooth across the surface.
