How do I clean/degrease my kitchen cabinets?

My kitchen cabinets need improvement, but before I do anything, I need them to be clean. What is the best way to get them clean? There is dust, grease, food, you name it in various spots on them. I don't want to take the stain off (at least not until I decide what I am going to do), I just want them clean and newer/fresher looking. Please help!

I use a no-name degreaser then rinse well. if they are fairly greasy use a green scrubbie with the degreaser

Dawn dish detergent is the best degreaser. Hot water, dawn and elbow grease.

    murphys oil soap
  • You can get heavy duty degreasers like the ones used in professional kitchens at Gorden Food Service (GFS) Marketplaces. If that doesn't work...dawn dishsoap!

I just did this for my Mom who cooks more than anyone I know. To start I took 1 part clorox bleach to 2 parts hot water and one of those Mr. Eraser sponges. It works so well, and gets in all the nooks and crannys. Then when that was done I let it dry for half an hour I used Wilbert lemon Oil, (I like it so much better than Murphy's oil) and with a clean soft rag I wiped them all down. I wish I had taken pictures, the before and after were amazing. I hope this helps.

I use spic and span spray to clean them, and then I use orange oil to give them a moisturizer, shine and a great smell. Makes them look very nice.
