Aphid

Have a pot of English ivy on my screen porch growing up a tomato cage .it had aphids this summer .spray with dawn and water .I want to bring it inside not sure if I got all the aphids .have been covering with a towel at night .it is already 24 degree here now .have other house plants don't want aphids to spread .keep finding brown stuff on leaves .need help

Have you checked the soil to be sure that it's not infected with the aphids, and what kind of aphids were they? There are many varieties and some are much harder to get rid of than others. If you have a garage put the plant in there for a while before bringing into the home where any remaining aphids can then infect your other house plants. Also check the soil, consider repotting with fresh soil and give the plant and roots a good cleaning as well as the pot.
