I ask a question early about the aphids on English ivy .Will they live in the dirt if I bring the plant inside ?

    Hello. They can live in the dirt. I would get new potting soil and put the old in a garbage bag and throw it away. Remove as much of the soil around the roots to assure you get rid of them. Good Luck!

    Spray the ivy leaves (and the soil) with a mixture of Dawn dishwashing liquid, vegetable oil and water. It should safely eliminate the aphids. Double check the leaves before bringing it inside.

    Yes. What they don't like is cold, but English ivy can cope as a rule very well.......

      There was a picture of a fungus that looked like little brown spots. It (from what I've gathered) could also happen from over watering. Is there a nursery nearby where you could take some leaf samples for them to identify?

    yes,you have to re-pot in fresh soil and sprays all the upper and lower leaves of the plant
