Vacume cleaner brush

I have a Hoover cordless upright vacume cleaner that I love. It picks up every thing very well especially hair from my brush and blow dryer that gets on the carpet. Does any one know an easy way to remove the hair that gets wrapped around the rotating brush. Now I have to use a small wire brush and pull the hair off by my hands which takes a very long time. I turn the vacume cleaner upside down on my work bench to gain access to the brush.

I burned up my rotating brush motor from hair. I take a pair of scissors and cut the hair at the bottom of and along the edge of the brush line. Then you can pull the hair out with little effort. I would do it every other vacuuming so it doesn't have a chance to roll off the roller onto the spindle where it will burn up the motor.

Most of the time the rollers will come off the vacuum. I do the same as Mimi does with a scissors to loosen it and just pull it off. A couple of minutes and done. If it for some reason is really bad, that is when I take the roller off.

I have had very good luck with removing long hair by cutting the hair along the line of bristles with a paring knife or scissors and then using a pair of pliers to grab and pull the hair from the roller (hint: always make sure the vacuum is off and unplugged before rotating the roller so it doesn't start up accidentally)

Hi Dano, I put my kitchen rubber gloves on, and go over the carpet with my hands, picking up the hair first, then vac afterwards. Since doing this I don't have any problems. I have a Dust Flow pull along vac. Hope this helps. Kay Adelaide Australia
