I planted a large dark leaf elephant ear in a huge pot for the summer and it has been so beautiful. my Question is... I know it has to come inside in order to survive the North Carolina winter. Any suggestions on what else I do? Do I leave the leaves or cut them off? Any suggestions are welcome!

Elephant ears are very tender and will not withstand the slightest cold.Your best option is to try to weather it inside,or dig up the bulbs, clean and store them in a paper bag in a cool dark location

stop watering and let the leaves die back. Then dig the rhizomes out of the pot, dry off for a couple of days, and store them to start again next spring.
