Get hair cuttings from your salon or barber and place them in a used pair of panty hose. Hang wherever the deer are. They will run! Deer hate the smell of humans.

There isn't! Unless you have a really high fence that they cannot jump over. We have at least 3 traveling in groups and in the fall they hang out in my backyard (from 1 to 18 at times!) I've learned not to waste my money over the years and grow veggies on my deck! I grow deer resistant flowers and plants and sometimes they even chomp at it. Your local nurseries sometimes have a list for you of those plants.

I use a home made solution of 1 egg, 1 Tablespoon of dish liquid, 1/2 cup milk and water in a gallon container. Shake well and put into a spray bottle. Has to be replenished after a rain but that only takes a few minutes. It really works as the milk and egg ferment makes for a distasteful smell and taste. They do not like the smell. This mix does not harm the plants in any way. You can buy a commercial solution but it is very expensive. I use this mix on all of my flowers, but have not tried it on vegetables. I put a light plastic mesh over my tomato, cukes and squash plants.

Sorry, I went thru that and none of the home remedies worked (human hair, moth balls, Irish Spring soap, etc.). We had to indivually fence each bush until they were established enough to take some nibbling. Ugly as all get out tho. I hated the look but after losing almost 50 new azalea's to the little devils we had no choice. I've moved now, but I've heard the motion detector high powered sprinklers work well.

Although I've never tried this I've been told placing human hair in the garden and even beneath leaves and soil, will deter deer.
