How to keep a small rug (30" x 20"), placed on a large rug in place?

It sits right outside my kitchen, and protects the main carpeting. It will not stay put, and slides as people step on it. I'm tired of putting it back where it belongs. What can I do to make sure it stays in place?

If you own a hot glue gun - turn rug over to reverse side and start from the edge about a half inch in and run a glue strip around all four sides and create grid lines throughout. Let dry before turning back over, this should create grippers. Some hardware stores carry a peel and stick grabber for the back of rugs.
Try putting rubber cement on the wrong side of the small rug. Let it dry. It will create a non-skid finish that won't ruin the rug

In the old days sealer rings were used which were sewn onto the under corners so I am thinking any rubber type product would do the same thing to keep it from moving.
Better to have the Rug in the Kitchen side of the doorway.
