Hi Kat, if the dresser isn't tall enough you could put it on a board cut to its size and then add castors beneath the board so it would be easy to move around. After that you could add a counter top of your choice that hangs over a foot off the back so people could sit at it.
My son made a desk island conversion similar to this one making a mounting base and putting a butcher block slab on top.
