How do I rid my perennial bed of Leafy Spurge Euphorbia esula ?

This "weed", also known as Faitour's grass, has heavily invaded my flower bed. As I am currently cleaning our dead stalks, I am trying to just pull up this weed, but the job is overpowering. HELP!

Clear them out before they set seed each year till gone.......
Smother them out with newspapers and cardboard.
