What is the best way to cut tires for yard ornaments?

We have saved old car tires with plans on using them in the yard. I just don't know the best way to cut them in half.

    I think the safest tool to use would be a reciprocating saw. Also known as a saws all. If you don't own one, you can rent one from your local home depot. You might want to use a medium metal cutting blade since the tires might have steel strands going through them. I would also recommend another person to hold the tire steady. It's gonna shake like crazy. Don't forget eye protection for both of you. Hope this helps. Good luck and be careful.
