the contractor who installed them said to keep washing them but this milky looking grout finish is impossible to get out because it's on a very large areas like fireplace, backsplash and window sills. The tiles had a beautiful glistening rock finish and they are now very dull!

  • Sorry you had a crappy contractor. They should have finished the job properly for you, which includes sealing the grout. Wash with a solution of vinegar and water 50/50. Then let dry thoroughly then seal the grout. Sealing the grout will make it easier to clean. Then go after the contractor. I would lodge a complaint.

There is no easy way to eliminate it. Just keep cleaning it with clean water a clean cloth. Make sure to change the water and cloth often . I just finished doing a whole bathroom and it took me weeks to finally get it looking good

i have health issues and not enough energy to wash these very large surfaces every day or even once a week. There is a section in front of the fireplace where my cleaning lady washes the whole floor and you see the difference
