Mulching is a great way toConserve moisturePrevent weed growthInsulate the soil in cold weatherCool the soil in hot weatherEnrich the soil with organic materials
Mulching with grass clippings is easy and free. Just make sure the grass has been grown without pesticides or herbicides. It decomposes very rapidly resulting in very rich soil.
Those leaves are almost as big as my hand, yummy!

Clippings do make good mulch, but, of course, if you are mowing your grass correctly, it is better to just leave them on the lawn.

Grass clippings must be dry , and should be well decomposed to prevent rotting plants . Avoid weeds in grass clippings !! Do NOT mulch too close to stems or this may cause rot !
