Meet the Three Dogs in My Garden

One of the things that makes my garden "my" garden are the three dogs who live here.
People always ask me how I keep the dogs out of the garden. I don't really. I do try to minimize the damage they cause by putting up inexpensive dollar store fences in the spring. I also take a pair of wire cutters and cut up a standard tomato cage into a set of wire hopes that I use to protect emerging spring bulbs. The wire hopes deter the dogs and have never caused injury. Once the garden starts to fill in, I find they stray less into the dense plantings, preferring the open expanse of lawn to run around and play.
These are the three dogs who play in my garden. That is Buddy on the left, Rusty in the middle and Scrap on the right.
The "boys" never think it is too cold to be out in the garden.
Buddy is 14 years old now.
But he still loves to run and jump in the sprinkler in the summertime.
Honestly, they are like two little kids playing in the sprinkler.
On the other hand, Rusty the smallest of our Shelties wants no part of getting wet.
Of course the best part of playing in the sprinkler is getting towel dried.
The boys pass along their best regards. Like me, they can hardly wait to be out working in the garden again.
