Shared Boys & Guest Bathroom

When we began remodeling the Boys bathroom, we wanted to create a fun space for them but still maintain a sophistication to the room since it also doubles as the guest bathroom. The result is a playful, modern bathroom with a slightly nautical feel. Click through to the blog post to see more photos and sources!

You can see the feature wall in the reflection.
We chose to use hooks set in trimmed panels instead of standard towel bars.
I painted these watercolor whales to use as art for the bathroom.
These chalkboard jars are perfect for holding cotton balls and q-tips.
A DIY photo ledge holds some nautical themed art.

When people do reno in a bathroom, if you are planning to stay in that house for most of your life, you need to think long term, will I be able to go upstairs, is the toilet high enough should I have knee or hip replacement, (unless you have gone through this you have no idea how hard it is to sit on a lower toilet ) do it right the first time. bars and more bars, inside /outside the tub or better yet , walk in shower is the best.most bathroom that I looked at , there are no bars to hold on to, toilet bowel too low, it does not cost a fortune, if you need to sell and seniors are looking, you would be in luck, compare to the ones that does not have any of these necessities.
