How to Add Wood Plank for a Mantel Makeover

$50
Easy
Spring is certainly in the air here in South Carolina but before I head outside to get started on all of those yard projects, I wanted to finish a couple of indoor one’s first. I have been wanting to do a wood plank mantel makeover for a while. I have always felt like it would really change the focal point in my living room. It was so easy, I should have done it sooner.
Finish Mantel Makeover made a huge difference in my living room.
Used V-groove plank paneling purchased at Lowe's
Easy measuring since all boards needed to be same size.
Used a clamp to hold boards together for cutting.
Nail gun makes for fast and simple mounting of wood planks.
Added 1x4 to each side for detail and depth.
Painted out with Sherwin Williams Gauntlet Gray with Homemade Chalk Finish Paint.
You can see the huge difference in this before and after photo.

This is a great idea! How would you mount this on a brick fireplace wall? Thanks.
