Creating Junky Sawhorse Pipe Chalkboard Shade Lamps! On a Dare...

Medium
What would you if you were sent crusty old sawhorse brackets in the mail and challenged to make something cool with them? That's exactly how these sawhorse pipe chalkboard shade lamps were created. On a dare. And while I thought they were rather cool for my own home, I had no idea on the reaction they would ultimately earn...What do you think? Crazy or cool?
I LOVE lamps in my kitchen for extra task lighting, but didn't love the ones I had. These junk styled ones did the trick for me!
I was sent these rusty sawhorse brackets in the mail... and challenged to make something with them. Good grief. What?!
I went through a few options... but that would have been cheating. No, I needed something super cool.
After picking up some pipe components, I stacked them up to build a lamp base. I think pipe manufactures need to rebrand what pipes are REALLY used for these days, don't you?!
Wiring up the lamp kit was a snap! Full details on the blog... it's easy! But you do need to know a few things to do it safely. http://www.funkyjunkinteriors.net/2014/03/junky-sawhorse-pipe-lamps-with-chalkboard-shades.html
Personalizing fabric covered lampshades with chalk gives them a chalkboard edge indeed! Aren't they cute?
And the result are two super cool junk styled lamps that look perfect in my junk styled kitchen!

And then the comments on my blog blew up.Who knew a little dare could create so much lamp love?

What do you think? Crazy or cool?
