Thrift Store Side Table Goes Glam

Easy
Looking to add a little glamour to your furniture? Metallic paint is the easiest way to get there! Check out how I gave this sad thrift store side table a glam makeover!
Before...sad little table, I paid around $25 for it at our local thrift store.
After lightly sanding and spray priming, I gave this piece two coats of Martha Stewart's Thundercloud Metallic paint. Great Coverage!
I applied leafing using a bonding agent, both products also from Martha Stewart. I wanted a mirrored effect for the top.
The drawer front got a coat of white paint and a little silver rubnbuff to bring out the details.
Pretty knobs complete this makeover.
The drawer is busy, so I chose knobs that were subtle.
This table may have been an ugly duckling, but it had great details.
All it needed was a little TLC!

What material is that on top and how did you bond it?

OMG! Great idea. I wanted a mirrored look to my side tables and was just going to paint them white and the drawers in a light gray. However, I am loving this technique and will try to find this paint in my local craft store. Thanks for sharing!

Before your redo, the heavy detail work just looked "busy." With your "after", the details are the star. Your calm color choices were perfect. Truly lovely.
