What should I rename my shop ... Caribbean Style or Decor

by Yael Valencia
shop evolved with Turquoises, slivers, whites and blues it became very obvious that my Caribbean roots was the main inspiration behind my evolving style.
So with the Caribbean Turquoise taking over in my shop it’s time to rebrand the store, change the name and admit the obvious. But now I have to choose a name. I have narrowed it down to “Melissa’s Caribbean Style” or “Melissa’s Caribbean Decor”.
When I went to bed it seemed all set, I had settled on “Melissa’s Caribbean Style”. I set up my Instagram account and I was perfectly content. When I woke up it didn't seem so clear. I love Melissa’s Caribbean Style but the name itself doesn't hint as to what I make. Yes, it is obvious I am doing something with a Caribbean flair but it could be anything from clothes to paintings of fish and everything in between.
“Melissa’s Caribbean Decor” indicates I am making items for the home. I keep going back and forth unable to decide between the two. So help me. Please write in the comments which you think is better. Thanks Melissa

I like Becky's idea though I would add this.. &..... between Style / Decor. It rolls off the tongue easier!

There's really no reason to include your name. With that in mind why not something like Villa Caribbean. This tells people exactly what it is. :-)

Beautiful. are you sure you want to limit limit your brand, though? As your style evolves over time, you may find you've boxed yourself in.

Caribbean style is fantastic, but a couple of years from now people won't touch turquoises...it will be something like "old world" gold and cranberry...so don't limit yourself unless you want to change. How about something like "Melissa's Magical Touch Decor"? "Melissa's Creative Decor"....just pick something that is not limiting. Good luck. Love your style(s).

I think I would go with Melissa's Caribbean Style, and then use a byline - "Beach decor & so much more" or something to that effect. That way the name doesn't limit you, and you can change the byline any time you want!

Tes I like that but I think I would leave off Melissa's name . Its very direct and classy.

My background is in design & marketing, but I don't have enough info on what you sell in your shop to give advice. So I will tell you this instead: a shop's name should always give a potential customer the clearest possible idea of what the benefit will be when going into your shop. Based on the bits I see here, I would think something like "Carribean TradeWinds" (exotic, breezy, merchandise, ever-changing). Again, I don't know anything about your business - but this is a example of how you can evaluate an effective new name: by what expectation it brings to a potential customer's mind - not whether it sounds good to you.

How about " The Calming Effect", because that's what the colors of your decor does to a person.
