My Second Attempt With April Rose

This year I decided to use Creeping Phlox. I also planted the flowers directly on the inside of her head. Last year I used a plastic mesh potato bag so that I could swop them out if I changed my mind or simply just wanted to change the look. Here she is sitting on the balcony.. later I may move her to the front stairway.. I can't wait for the Phlox to take hold and creep down the sides of her head...So far I like it..I'll update as she evolves.. P.S.. Thank you my hometalk friends for your votes concerning the painting of her face..I decided to leave her as she is.... I did however shade her just a tiny bit with a small brush and a darker grey along her nose and eyebrows, but very lightly..
April Rose in the second year..
April rose from the side..
Here's April rose from the back. I hope not using the mesh bag doesn't pose a problem when I go to water her thoroughly .. We'll see... if so, that will be another post and a learning experience.
