Coloring Mason Jars

I want to color my Mason jars using Mod Podge and the recipes that I have seen call for food coloring. I want to know if you can use craft paint instead. What about adding glitter?

I've never tried it, but I don't see why you couldn't add paint and I'm sure you could add glitter just might not be as smooth. I think food coloring would be a lot more transparent than paint. So it depends on the look you're going for.

You can absolutely use craft paint or glue and glitter, just make sure you will not be drinking from the jar if you do. Here is a tutorial to glitter a mason jar: http://goo.gl/SQkeKA And here is a tutorial to paint a mason jar: http://goo.gl/8g8y4l

If you use food coloring, and put your jars outside, the sun will bleach every bit of color right out of them. Even if you seal them. Learned the hard way. :-(
