Often you find used furniture that has wood veneer coming off, or is damaged. Now you don't have to pass on that piece because you can remove the veneer without fancy tools.

This was the dresser before its makeover.

Here is the dresser after the veneer was removed from the top and it was primed, painted and glazed. It went from old and tired to new and fresh. The paint is a silver metallic with black and white glaze for texture.

I have an old dresser almost identical to this. I've been wondering how I would get the veneer off, so this is perfect! I'll be sure to post pictures once I"m done.

When the veneer comes up...what is under it? I've avoided peeling veneer, but maybe you've changed my mind. Thanks!

  Zhou could have a single board, boards, or even ply wood. You ly wood had. A great grain, but may stain different from the other woods in your piece.

  @Linda Barrett Dirksen Yes it depends. Usually it's just a less-quality wood. You can usually sand and paint or stain it. The piece I did ended up looking great after I took off the veneer.
