April 22nd is Earth Day, the perfect time to take a look at how we live and what we throw away! Your recycling bin or garbage can can be a great place to find items that can repurposed in a whole new way.
You won't believe what this asian inspired Faux Flower Planter started out as...
An empty plastic box! Add wooden feet with hot glue, paint the tub and feet with acrylic paint, then dab on gold paint to distress. Place a faux flower, rocks, moss and bamboo inside. Your gorgeous flower will never fade.
These stylish containers are great for storing pens, pencils and other desk supplies.
Drill a hole in the top of a tea cannister, and add a small knob. Cover the container with scrapbook paper and add number stickers.
Stash those recipes in a cute box.
You can find these strawberry containers for free at many grocery stores. Just add acrylic paint, scrapbook paper and stickers.
Stow all those crafty bits and pieces away in a repurposed egg carton! Paint, scrapbook paper, baker's twine and a few embellishments takes it from plain to pretty.
Don't toss that show box lid! It's make from super strong cardboard. You can upcycle it into a photo frame. You just need paint, scrapbook paper, ribbon and embellishments.
Rinsed out tin cans and a piece of wood make a great portable Herb Garden.
Paint the cans and wood. Drill a hole in each can and in the wood and use screws to attach.
Add some twine and plant markers to make it even cuter.
An empty cornstarch container makes a fantastic sewing kit.
Cover the top with batting and fabric and add some fun "sewing" trinkets. Add your sewing essentials and you're good to go!
