Staining wood porch

I have a small wood (salt treated) wood porch that I need to stain/paint. It's been in place for almost two years now. Need advice on best way to stain/paint. Preferably one that lasts the longest. And if there is any way to fill in the cracks in between the planks. I know it sounds silly, but every year all the stuff that falls off the trees in spring and fall fill up the cracks and don't easily come out by sweeping. Thanks for any suggestions. J

I used wood deck exterior stain for my porch / deck, any brand will do, wash off, dry and then apply (A little goes a long way). As far as the "cracks", I recommend you carpet your deck with indoor / outdoor carpeting. You didn't say "cheap" lol ... I know of nothing that you can "fill" in the spaces with that will stay and not deteriorate from year to year. Carpet is my best guess.

I would preasure wash it lightly, sand it where paint is still loose, then just get it done. Run a bead of liquid nails in the cracks.

I should have stated that it has not been painted or stained yet. It was built almost 2 years ago, but have not done anything to it at all.
