When we bought this house I was not thrilled with the kitchen. It is on our "to do list" of things to update in this house. The one positive thing about it is that even though it's a bit dated it was kept in good condition and very clean. However....The corner cabinet opened on the far right side so I was constantly on my tip toes, reaching over the island to open it up and then when it did open the door was in the way. It was just a big pain in the butt so I decided to get rid of the door all together and leave it open, which turned out perfect. I was skeptical at first but then I remembered I found these awesome decoupage paper prints of maps at Michaels the other day by the Martha Stewart Collection that I had bought and kept for a future project. I was planning on framing them but my children informed me that I have enough pictures already. LOL! So, I decided they would be a beautiful accent to the back of this boring cabinet. I just used some adhesive glue that is removable and put them up, I then bought some washi tape that matches the rugs in my kitchen perfectly and used it around the edges and front of shelves for an added detail. I then styled it with pretty items I use everyday in my kitchen and I was thrilled with the results! It came out so cute, I was unsure at first but after it was all put together I fell in love! It makes this dated kitchen a little more cute.
Before and After....
I had to add a rooster. It was just to cute. The tin can is full of extra Kcups for our Keurig.
The flour, sugar, and brown sugar jars I bought at Target for $5 and I just added a chalkboard sticker to each.
Before....
After...I would eventually love to do a few more cupboards this way once we get to the remodel of our kitchen. Until then this wonky cupboard is now useful and cute!

The paper in the back is of world maps from the Martha Stewart collection at Michaels. You get 9 prints for $9 and don't forget to use your 40% off coupon!!!!!
