How to get kitchen cabinet doors to hang right after refinishing

I painted my kitchen cabinets which required me to take the doors completely off of the cabinets. Now when we put them back, using the same screw holes, they did not hang quite right, and some will not close. How can I fix this without having to completely re-do the hinges and risk putting bigger holes in the cabinets? A friend of ours who is a carpenter tried to adjust the doors by slamming them up or down, which made them close, but they won't close against the cabinet frame tight. We tried the magnet thing, but they won't fit on the frame and the doors are too far out, because the shelves are set in about 1/2 inch. Any ideas?

Photos would help. Close ups of the troubled areas. Without them, all I can hope might help is, if they hinges are adjustable check out this video. I must say can't imagine a carpenter slamming doors in hopes of fixing your doors. LOL I hope he was joking. 8^} https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56cqwMnKRz0

Thank you Becky, but I think we are going to replace the three hinges that are creating problems. They are not adjustable ones like in the video. Thank you for commenting!

@Patti, I was afraid they weren't, but thought I'd share, just in case. Good luck fixing them!
