It may not have been what you wanted, Carol, but you made a good choice with Madame Rosy. Because it is a hybrid between the native trumpet vine (Campsis radicans) and Chinese trumpet vine (Campsis grandiflora), it is seedless. So you don't have to worry about it being invasive. And it is said to be less rampant a grower, although I would take any such claim about a trumpet vine with a grain of salt. Having it in a pot, however, should keep it in check. -
I totally agree with Douglas and think you will have fun growing them in big pots. Giving you more opportunities to add color at the bottom of the pot too. -
