I've tried re-dyeing and fabric paint on my leather couch, both properly prepared before application, and both times the color has worn off and with the dye, it changed color from gray to blue over time. The couch was originally off white. I wish I had just left it alone! Now it looks like garbage and I'll be replacing it. No one in my family lets me forget it either. Ugh...be careful!

I would not suggest painting it. I think over time the paint will crack and you will be then forced to cover it for good. I suggest getting a good leather cleaner and cleaning it all over. Then I would take a bunch of pillows in varying sizes and shapes and place then on the couch. A irovy throw on one of the arms will distract from the color of the couch.
