Installing Base Cabinets

Improve the organization of any unfinished room with cabinets. It is easier to install than you'd expect and it can also be economical. I was able to find the cabinets, counter top, and end cap for a tad over $100.
It was just a simple plywood work surface when we moved into the house. Our dogs slept below but would get a little cold during a bad winter. The utility room was always the coldest room in the house. After installing the cabinets I took off the smallest door and used a Sawzall to open up the inside of the cabinets. The dogs now sleep inside the cabinets, which helps keep residual heat inside.
The drawers and shelves have made organizing a ton better. Plus, the solid work surface is great for folding clothes.

Z on Apr 08, 2014What a great idea Tyler. Something like this could also work for cat parents too. It could even be converted to work for hiding litter boxes too.
