New Raised Bed Planting Boxes at the Colonial Cottage Restoration Prop

So happy the weather is getting better and to be back outside getting some things done!! A little landscape work this week, built 3 new rasied garden beds for flowers and/or veges. These are at the back right corner of colonial cottage restoration property, I built these at no cost, besides some gas money to go pick up a huge amount of free used deck boards from a kind soul on craigslist, it took two trucks to bring all the boards to my property, the man who gave them to me even followed me back with a load on his truck, what a guy!! And the 4x4 corner support posts were free cut offs i picked up from the wood pile at my local dump. I filled them about half way with free mulch from the dump as well. I line my boxes with strips cut from old tarps or heavy duty plastic, keeps dirt from seeping through between boards and extends the life of the wood. I put down cardboard with mulch on top in the rows between boxes for a clean walkway and to keep weeds away.

i am in the process of building beds but unsure of soil contents. Are you adding anything to your compost from the landfill?
