Suggestions?

I posted these pictures a while ago asking if anyone knew what this was. The consensus was some type of lockers.. The cubbies are small like a mail slot would be in a post office. Does anyone have any suggestions on what to do with it or how to display it? Paint it? Thanks!

Any reason you couldn't turn it on its side so that doors could be selectively proper, closed or even removed for display of whatnots?

I see this in either a workshop, garage or hobby room! If you have a child that loves small toys like hot wheels, what a great garage this would make for them. It would also encourage them to think "organize and put up your toys"!

Great find! What are the overall measurements Shanon? Are the doors latched so it could be hung upside down so that the doors open like a rural mailbox?

These are prescription file boxes - I have some myself. I would paint them in any color that pleases you, as they are definitely no longer original (I added a couple of links to originals in case you are interested). Mine have been used for - sorting craft paints (like colors grouped in each one), sorting yarn skeins, extra photo/ scrapbooking storage, candle/ scented wax storage, and cosmetics/ toiletries/ medicines storage - depending on how my decor has worked in different houses. They can be great by the door for hats/gloves and kids shoes, too. I will say that Lori J's idea of turning them sideways is good - the one thing I dislike about mine is they are "self-closing" lol. http://www.thehaystackneedleonline.com/2009/03/vintage-prescription-boxes.html http://www.houzz.com/photos/1749105/Hercules-Pharmacy-Prescription-Storage-Cabinet-eclectic-storage-boxes-new-york

I'd paint it. Turn it on its side. Take a few doors off for display and the remaining for storage

I think this is so cool. Depending on size, I'd even use it above or on a dressing table/bureau to keep jewelry in - you know, that stuff you like to keep in the original packages or the stuff that doesn't fit in regular jewelry boxes. I can see graphics painted on some of the little doors. Like numbers or letters or maybe silhouette birds or something. Again, so cool!

It would make an awesome advent calendar! I know there aren't enough holes, but it's so cute and you wouldn't have to repaint the whole thing since it's already red. (It looks to me like it could have been a seed packet sales case.)

Judging by furniture behind it, it looks quite large. I would turn it on its side for cabinet type opening.... or completely upside down so the doors open like a mailbox and put it on an old metal Singer sewing machine base!! For color, either white or charcoal grey/black..... but distressed so the red peaks through

turn to the side and use it in an office or craft room to hold supplies or use it to hold knick knacks if you can put it on a wall. Totally unique piece.

Maybe it is just the pool in the background, but could be a nice outdoor storage for rolled up towels, sunglasses, books to read while sunning. Then again, I'm in MN where it snowed about a foot yesterday... so I'll just go back to ogling your pool.

Oh, don't paint it.........I agree with turning it upside down. Maybe antique it a bit more with some Modern masters rust paint. Put it on a base with casters........could then use it whereever you want to put stuff in.
