Butler's Table Makeover

Wildflowers & Pistols
by Wildflowers & Pistols
Alright, so this one started out really ugly! It was a garage sale find that my mother-in-law picked up for me. Not only was the paint job terrible... it had food stuck to it, sticky stuff (I'm sure I don't want to know what) and paper to stuck to it.
I honestly almost just took it to the dump... but, I decided that since it was sturdy and interesting that maybe I could work with it. So, instead of just cleaning it up and painting over all that nasty I decided to just sand it all down to bare wood and start fresh!
Here it is after a fresh coat of paint! MUCH better! It was fresh, clean and starting to look like something I could put into my house.-- My rule of thumb is.. If I wouldn't put it in my own house, then I don't sell it! -- At this point, inspiration hit! So, I got out my chalk and started drawing... (I use chalk to free hand my designs because if I don't like it, I can just simply wipe it off!)
After I had the design the way I wanted, I painted it on. ^ and this is what it looked like. I was starting to fall in love with this table by this point.
Once it was all finished I was SO happy that I decided to give this little table a second chance! Isn't it just darling!? So, next time you see a terribly ugly piece of furniture.. look again. Maybe you can turn it into something beautiful and unforgettable! :)

This gives me an idea. I can't draw for beans, but I can paint. My daughter, on the other hand, is a wonderful artist. If we put our talents together, we could come up with something as wonderful as this. Maybe. Love it!
