Dip Dyed Bentwood Chairs

I've been seeing the dip dye look everywhere I go lately so I thought I better give it a try. I had these great bentwood chairs in the barn, so I cleaned them up and gave it a whirl. After I spray painted the chairs off white, I got out my can of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint-Paris Grey. Initially, I actually tried to dip the legs into a container of the grey...that was sloppy and didn't work out as well as I had hoped. So I tried a more precise way...I used Frog Tape to mark off the area that I wanted to paint on all the legs. This worked a lot better and gave me a nice crisp line. Because the grey was so soft it seemed a little weak, so I also painted the seat of the chair to help bring out the dipped legs. I sprayed the chairs with a satin poly to give them plenty of protection.
