Dragonflies made from re-purposed materials

I made these two dragonflies using an old metal sign and a discarded chair leg! They are great to hang indoors or outdoors!

Tin Can & Tequila Bottle Repurpose

Using up some tin cans and glass I've been saving by adding some paint and sparkle. Great way to display casual clippings.

Front Walkway built out of inexpensive cement pavers, red lava rocks, and solar lights

Our home had a simple walkway with cement pavers, which proved to be a hassle when we mowed the lawn. We finished the walkway simply by digging up the grass, adding red lava rocks, ...»
flowers, and solar lights to boost up our curb appeal!

Make An Old Crib Into a Drying Rack!

When your last child moves to a "big kid" bed, repurpose the crib into a Ballard-inspired drying rack for just a few dollars. Here's how: http://alwayssomethinghome.blogspot.com/201...

  • From dusty pallet to Beatles song Art piece.

  • Love "All You Need is Love" by the Beatles.
The lyrics are hand stamped in red across the white & black striped slats. If you can't find a pallet, you can make one, too.

From Pallet to Art

I have repurposed another dusty pallet and made it something charming and unique!

I used the Beatles lyrics from "All You Need Is Love" and painted the panels alternating ...»

black & white stripes. I put a big light turquoise heart in the center because red would be too obvious.

No, really, because I am loving turquoise this year, so why not a blue heart?

Anyway, I think it turned out really funky and fun.

DIY Candlelabra

This project is so easy. Only takes one brass candle holder, some thrift store tea cups and saucers, some crystals or old jewelry and some strong glue and spray paint. Put it together and you've created a very pretty centerpiece.

  • We started out with these 3 Ball Jars. They would shortly become the light fixtures above our kitchen island! 4
  • Then the Ball jar is screwed onto the lid! 4
  • Here you can see how we prepared the lid. I used a step bit to bore the hole in the center, then drilled vent holes all the way around the lid to allow the heat from the bulbs to escape.
  • The light socket side of the pendant light kit is inserted through the center hole and a threaded collar is screwed on to hold the ball jar lid in place.
  • All 3 finished Ball Jar Pendant Lights! 5

Ball Jar Pendant Lights ( Mason Jar )

The former owner of our house installed 3 pendant lights kits above the kitchen island. The kits are pretty nice because instead of having to be hard wired in, they screw in just like a ...»
light bulb. So instant transformation! The only thing we didn't like about the pendant lights were the existing pendants. We looked at most of our home improvement stores in the area, but didn't find the look we wanted. So we opted to make our own. Jacque decided she wanted to convert ball jars into pendants...And gave me the responsibility of making that happen.
