Antique Dresser Turned Bench

I bought this dresser two years ago. Three of the four drawers had broken wooden glides and the top had a crack from the front to the back. I ended up keeping it for myself instead of selling it. I recently replaced it in my home with a hutch so had to find a new purpose for it. This is what I decided to do.
Before-Pictures don't show all the things wrong with this little dresser, but I definitely didn't want to send it to the dump!
We ended up cutting it in half and reusing the top for the seat and the edge pieces to trim out the front of the arms. We used new wood to make the arm rests and the inside of the back and sides, but reused all the old wood from the dresser to rebuild it.
I made the cushion out of foam and batting.
Love these vintage looking glass knobs and love how they compliment the paint color. The color is Covington Blue from Benjamin Moore.

Frequently asked questions
Have a question about this project?
How did you do this? You gutted it? Did you have to add any wood to it? How did you use the top for the rails? Do you have a tutorial so that maybe I could do this with one of my dressers?
Thanks
