Um, who said that Christmas should get all the holiday tree glory?!?Don't bunnies like trees? It's the perfect place to take a nap, nibble some carrots and....hide some eggs of course! This holiday mascot business can get quite competitive, and during our last chat the Easter Bunny specifically mentioned that a Easter Tree might be exactly what he needs to...get a jump on Santa... :-)
SUPPLIES

Fabric strips or if you're feeling lazy like me, fabric ribbon (I found mine at Hancock Fabric)

Papier Mache cones (Michaels)

Hot glue

Scissors
For a tree with horizontal stripes...

1.Wrap the first strip around the bottom of the cone gluing only the top edge of the strip (or ribbon), glue where ends meet and trim excess

2.Alternating widths and patterns of fabric, layer and glue fabric strips, overlapping top strip over the one below until you reach the top

3.As you continue up, you will need to angle fabric into a V at the back where the two ends meet so that the top edge of the strip stays flush with the curve of the cone.

4.Tightly wrap and glue top piece over the point
For a tree with vertical stripes....

1.Glue end of fabric strip (or ribbon) to bottom of cone and continue to glue strip vertically until you reach the point. Glue down and trim fabric a bit longer than the point.

2.Continue to glue strips vertically until the entire cone is covered. I found, in this case, it is better to layer haphazardly rather than one piece over the next.

3.When cone is completely covered, tightly wrap and glue ends at the top and trim to a point.
