My cucumber plants are being raveged by these pests, tried soap spray, garden dust, did not help. Is there ary treatment to control these things; they are also in some of my tomato plants.

If you're looking to garden organically, the leaf miners can be kept in check using wasps called Digyphus isaea which are carried by some garden stores or can be ordered online. They eat the larvae to prevent further damage. Or alternatively, you could try Neem Oil.

I would certainly try the parasitic wasps Lavende mentions. Sometimes the use of insecticides can make leaf miner infestations worse because you kill off their natural predators. If the problem persists, in the future you might try row covers.
