What kind of paint

I have a wooden front door. I would like to paint it a different color. What is the best kind of paint to use? I will be painting the outside part of the door.

You'll want to get the surface very clean, then use a primer (I like Kilz 2 because of the lower VOC emissions), followed by a semi-gloss or satin finish exterior paint.

You want to clean the door off very well and sand down any areas where the paint might be chipped. Semi-gloss has the harder finish and stands up to the weather better, easier to clean but it also shows all of the imperfections more than the satin finish.
