Repurposing a Mirror Into a Message Board

I purchased this mirror at a garage sale for $1. I removed the picture and the mirror. I used luan for the top and the bottom. I covered the top luan with material and painted the bottom luan with three coats of chalk paint.
Original Mirror from a garage sale which I purchased for $1.
Here is the mirror with the picture and mirror removed.
Top part became a cork board. I cut a piece of luan to fit into the topsection and covered it with material.
Bottom part of mirror became a chalk board. I cut and other piece of luan to fit the bottom portion. I painted it with three coats of green chalk paint I found on clearance.
Repurposed mirror into message board.

@Maggie Lais Luan is a thin wood. Often found on the backs of furniture. It is light weight and can be used for many projects. If you need something strong, then this would not be a good choice.
